A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined the Groundbone Ceremony on Friday, August 8!

We are deeply grateful to all who came and helped make the day so special.
Thank you to everyone who contributed with songs, speeches, and reflections – and a special warm thank you to the children who shared their hopes for the ocean. You remind us why this work truly matters.

A very special thanks goes to 14-year-old Elliot Meier, who led the ceremony with remarkable enthusiasm and presence. Elliot concluded by sharing his own hope for the ocean:

«I hope The Whale will be a place where people can meet the whales. Understand them better. And grow to love the ocean. Because that’s how we humans are: when we love something, we fight for it. We take care of it.

We live on an ocean planet. Seventy percent of the Earth is ocean. My hope for the ocean? That we all care at least seventy percent more about finding smart solutions to protect it.

And we should love the ocean. Because we humans are – after all – seventy percent ocean ourselves. To love the ocean is to love ourselves, and everyone around us. »
