Friday, August 8, 15:00–16:30
Fyrvika, Andenes

We are delighted to invite you to a special ceremony marking the start of construction of The Whale.

The event begins indoors at Fyrvika with a program hosted by Camilla Ilmoni and Elliot Meier, featuring a series of presentations. We will then walk together to Sløyken, the construction site of The Whale, for a symbolic ceremony inspired by the discovery of a centuries-old whale bone.

Program participants include:

Benn Eidissen, Chair of the Board, The Whale AS
Roger Pettersen, Construction Project Manager, The Whale AS
Lisbeth Seppola, Board Member, The Whale AS
Kjell-Are Johansen, Mayor of Andøy Municipality
Sveinung Ellingsen, Chief Municipal Executive, Andøy
André Mowinckel, Municipal Architect, Andøy
Bjørnar Skjæran, Parliamentary Leader, Labour Party

The ceremony is held in connection with Andøydagan, which begins its official program at 17:00 the same day.

Practical information:

Admission is free, but seating is limited.
Please register by August 4 via email to camilla@thewhale.no or SMS to +47 469 32 899.
